Global Entrepreneurship Week, 20-22 November

Birkbeck Enterprise Hub to run events for entrepreneurs and would-be-entrepreneurs at Birkbeck

Birkbeck Enterprise Hub to run events for entrepreneurs and would-be-entrepreneurs at Birkbeck.

Birkbeck is full of entrepreneurs and people who want to be entrepreneurs and work for themselves. Over 130 students have already signed up as members of the Birkbeck Entreprise Hub (BEH), a collaborative project run by Birkbeck students and staff, which offers workshops and support to students and alumni who are interested in setting up their own entrepreneurial ventures.

During Global Entrepreneurship Week (20-22 November), the Entreprise Hub will be putting on a packed schedule of events with exciting guest speakers.

On Wednesday 20 November, Birkbeck’s very own Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Andrew Atter, will be leading an interactive seminar to help you develop your aptitude for innovation and problem solving.

On Thursday 21 November, the Hub will run IP Quest – the intellectual property game that teaches participants how intellectual property works, an important asset for any creative person.

Other sessions during the week include:

  • How to crowd fund your business through effective social media campaigns
  • How to pitch your ideas
  • Digital property rights
  • Sirius - The United Kingdom Trade and Industry’s world-leading programme for foreign entrepreneurs setting up business in the UK

On Friday 22 November, there will be a panel discussion by some of the most impressive entrepreneurs around. They all happen to be female and have excellent stories and lessons to share.

The BEH will be supporting the Red Light Campaign against human trafficking in acknowledgement of the fact that entrepreneurial skills are not just for profit but also for achieving social goals.
