Professor Deborah Mabbett will deliver her inaugural lecture: ‘The second time as tragedy: austerity under Thatcher and the Coalition’, tonight, Thursday 8 November, at 6pm. The event is part of the Department of Politics’ celebrations of their 40th anniversary.
Professor Mabbett has written a blog on the same topic as her lecture for the new Birkbeck Comments blog. The blog will provide a forum for Birkbeck academics to address the issues affecting our society today.
Also to mark the Department’s 40th anniversary, academics have produced a series of short videos, talking about politics.
