Instalment plan for Certificates of Higher Education
If you enrol on 60 or more credit points

If you enrol on 30 or more credit points
If you enrol on 60 or more credit points
You have the option to pay by instalments if you enrol on a Certificate of Higher Education with modules worth at least 60 credit points or more at once. If you wish to pay by instalments, you must enrol by visiting the My Birkbeck helpdesk or downloading a Modular Enrolment form; we cannot set up instalment payments for Certificates of Higher Education via online enrolments.
The first instalment must be paid on enrolment either in cash or by credit/debit card to reserve a place on your modules. The rest of the instalment payments will be made by direct debit. The direct debit instruction must be completed on enrolment.
Courses starting summer 2011
If you enrol after 15 April 2011, you cannot pay in instalments.
Courses starting autumn 2011
For those enrolling in the autumn term 2011, you have the option to pay in six equal monthly instalments, provided you enrol prior to 20 October 2011.
- These payments will be requested from your nominated bank account or credit/debit card from 1 November 2011 to 1 March 2012 (or the next working day).
Late enrolment
- If you enrol later than 20 October 2011, a double payment would be debited from your account on 1 December 2011 (or the next working day).
- If you enrol later than 18 November 2011, a triple payment would be debited from your account on or after 1 January 2012 (or the next working day).
Courses starting spring 2012
For those enrolling for programmes of study beginning in spring 2012, you have the option to pay in four monthly instalments, provided you enrol prior to 11 December 2011.
- These payments will be requested from your nominated bank account or credit/debit card from 1 January to 1 April 2012 (or the next working day).
Late enrolment
- If you enrol later than 11 December 2011, a double payment would be debited from your account on 1 February 2012 (or the next working day).
Courses starting summer 2012
If you enrol on a programme of study starting in the summer term, you may still pay by monthly instalments, provided the total amount has been paid by the final payment date of 1 June.
- If you enrol prior to 15 March 2012, you can pay by four equal instalments: a quarter non-refundable deposit to reserve your place and then three equal instalments deducted on 1 April, 1 May and 1 June 2012 (or the next working day).
- If you enrol after 15 March but before 15 April 2012, you can pay in three equal instalments: one third as a deposit to reserve your place, and two equal instalments on 1 May and 1 June 2012.
- If you enrol after 15 April 2012, you cannot pay in instalments.
If you enrol on 30 to 45 credit points
Direct debit instalments plans are also available for students enrolling on module totalling 30 to 45 credits.
If you enrol on 30 to 45 credit points you can pay fees in three equal instalments. If you wish to pay by monthly instalments, you must enrol in person, by post or by fax; we cannot set up instalment payments via online enrolments. You can download an enrolment form here.
The first instalment must be paid on enrolment either in cash or by credit/debit card to reserve a place on your modules. We will take the next two instalments by direct debit. You must complete and sign the direct debit details on the enrolment form to be able to do this.
The second and third instalments will be taken as follows:
- Autumn term – 1st November 2011 and 1st December 2011
- Spring Term – 1st February 2012 and 1st March 2012
- Summer Term – 1st May 2012 and 1st June 2012
Please note: If payments are dishonoured by the payee’s bank the full balance will become payable immediately.
