Library Disability and Dyslexia Service.

Birkbeck Library offers a wide range of assistive technology and services specifically for students with disabilities, including mental health conditions, and dyslexia.

Before you can use our services, you must complete a Study Support Plan on your My Birkbeck profile.

Face-to-Face support.

  • Drop in to the Library’s Accessibility Centre during term time between 4pm and 6pm Monday to Friday to talk to a member of staff.
  • Book a one-to-one support session on using assistive software and finding Library material using the catalogue and databases. Email us to make an appointment disability@library.bbk.ac.uk.

  • Make sense of your reading list.

  • Use software to cite your references in assignments and dissertations.

Convert a document into an accessible format.

Use Sensus Access to convert a document from an inaccessible format, like an image PDF, into an accessible one, like a Word document.
