Birkbeck School of Law is a leading international centre for research in critical legal theory and critically informed sociolegal research.
Since its foundation in 1992, our School has pioneered the application to legal scholarship of a variety of schools of thought, such as postmodernism; feminism; queer theory; critical race theory; literary approaches to law; psychoanalysis; law and the humanities; law and aesthetics, and post-colonialism.
