Birkbeck Firewall

A perimeter firewall operates at Birkbeck. This is a firewall between the Birkbeck network and the rest of Janet and the Internet. This is essential to reduce the impact of the considerable increase in the scale and frequency of external attacks on our network and computers over the last few years.

It is not our intention to prevent any users from using their computers or networks as is convenient to them. However, staff who are running servers requiring network access from outside the College will need to provide details to ITS using the Firewall Rule Amendment Request Form.
