Background and research interests

I completed both my BSc and PhD at Birkbeck, University of London. My principle interests are field geology, the sedimentation of pyroclastic density currents (PDCs), and determining similarities and contrasts between terrestrial PDCs and meteoritic ejecta blankets.

I have extensive field experience experience in both ancient UK volcanic terrains viz Lake District, most of the British Palaeogene Igneous Province, and modern terrains such as Tenerife, Fuerteventura, La Palma and North America. I have additional field experience in the French Alps, Italy and Switzerland.
