- Publications Manager of the Mineralogical Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
- On behalf of the Society and the specialist Environmental Mineralogy Group (of which I was chair from 2006-9), I co-organised the meeting Frontiers in Environmental Geoscience 2011, which was held in Aberystwyth, Wales, in June 2011.
- I am a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society and of the Geochemical Society.
