The Forgotten Generation has been selected for the 15th Royal Anthropological Institute’s Film Festival taking place in Bristol (UK) from 29 March to 1st April 2017.  The festival is a biennial event dedicated to the celebration of the best in ethnographic, anthropological and archaeological filmmaking from around the globe.  https://raifilm.org.uk

In The Forgotten Generation older people aged over 60 in urban Tamil Nadu, rural Rajasthan and tribal Maharashtra, India, reveal the realities of their lives, relationships and work as well as their expectations of the future.  We learn how they manoeuvre within tight constraints to create new social and economic opportunities for themselves, their families and friends and how targeted social pensions are producing Kafka-esque encounters with the State.
