To obtain the Foundation Degree Media and Business Applications, students must pass a total of eight modules. Students may re-sit a module a maximum of two times. The classification of the degree will normally be based on the highest seven marks, which must include a minimum of four modules at Level 5. All Level 4 modules will be single weighted, all Level 5 modules will be double weighted. This weighted average will then be classified according to the Scheme for Award of the Foundation Degree.
Scheme of Award
39% or under: Fail
40-69%: Pass
70% or over: Distinction
In addition, students must have obtained a grade of 'Satisfactory' for the Personal Development Planning module in each year. The classification for a student carrying pass related credits will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the Board of Examiners. It is the Examination Board, not the course team, which makes the decisions regarding the award of the degree.
