Screening and Discussion with RADIANT CIRCUS

When:
Venue: Birkbeck 43 Gordon Square

No booking required

RADIANT CIRCUS is creating an alternative cinema guide for London. The site has grown as a result of audience activism, producing weekly event listings in the absence of reliable information from the industry. Join founder Richard Clark who will talk about the site's growth and development, before leading discussion of “independent exhibition at a time of crisis”, drawing parallels between classic exploitation cinema and the tactics used by independent film promoters across London today.

The evening will conclude with a screening of Joe Dante’s 1993 film, MATINEE.

RICHARD CLARK
A movie child of the STAR WARS first wave, Richard expanded his cinematic horizons with the aid of Channel 4 and dubious VHS rentals and has been chasing more adventurous moving pictures ever since. He regularly travels across London to lurk in the darkness of community film screenings, research queer exploitation pics and enjoy all kinds of midnight excess.
