School of Law Study Skills workshop: Making your writing flow
When:
—
Venue:
Birkbeck Main Building, Malet Street
- Do you get feedback on your assignments that your writing is disjointed, doesn't flow or is unclear?
- Would you like to refine your writing so that it flows effectively?
If your answer to these questions is yes, then this workshop may be useful for you.
In this practical session, we’ll consider three principles of effective writing:
- Old-new information flow
- Reference to previous (and future) information
- Linking words
Based on these principles, we will examine ineffective and effective examples and then apply our new knowledge to a text that doesn't flow well.
