Her Figure a Song is a new piece of performance by Johanna Linsley and Rebecca Collins. Part experimental documentary, part eco-fable, part detective thriller, the piece stages an extended eavesdropped investigation of the East Coast of the UK. Her Figure a Song listens in on political, social and cultural dynamics; industries and infrastructures; contested histories and futures that are under negotiation. The 50-minute long piece combines spoken text, recorded sound, vocalisation and choreography. Complex ideas and dynamics are balanced by deadpan humour, a sense of unpredictability and a dramaturgy of surprise.
