This careers workshop will cover the following topics in an interactive way:

*Your Unique Ability

Who are you? What makes you special?

Understanding this is about acknowledging your talents, passions and skills. When it comes to your Career, this is your Unique Value Proposition, your USP and being able to discuss this confidently when engaging with employers or when networking will increase your social and career capital helping you stand out from the crowd in what is becoming an increasingly crowded space.

*Industry & Transferable Skills

Transferable skills are a fantastic way to show you’re a great fit for a role, regardless of your previous experience.These are a key set of skills and abilities which can be developed in one sector or industry and which can be applied to a wide range of other jobs and industries.

As well as paid positions, they can be gained from charity or voluntary work as well as extra-curricular activities.

* My Birkbeck On-line Tools

The careers portal hosts a huge array of tools, information and resources.  Here you will find out more about them and how to utilise them to gain the maximum benefit.

You will be sent the link to access the session on Collaborate at least 24 hours before the start time.  Please make sure that you have signed up with the correct email address to ensure you receive the link.

If you require any adjustments for the sessions (e.g. captions, off white slides, slides in advance), please let Lucy Crittenden know at employability@bbk.ac.uk at least 2 working days in advance so that we have time to implement them.

*This event is only open to Birkbeck students and graduates*
