Bootcamp Day TwoEnterprise is aimed at students and recent graduates interested in enterprise and entrepreneurship as a career pathway. It will also be relevant for students interested in freelance, contracting and portfolio careers, as well as those seeking to develop enterprise-related skills. You do not need to be part of the Pioneer Programme to attend.

Our three sessions are designed to introduce you to the world of self-employment in all its forms, as well as help you develop the skills you need to succeed as an entrepreneur, freelancer, or to work in a start-up.

Session Details:

12pm: Getting Started as an Entrepreneur – Deciding to dip your toe in the world of being an entrepreneur is a fantastic step, but it's easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure of what you need to do. This first session will cover early-stage entrepreneurship, including how to plan, register, and market your business.

This session will also touch upon first steps for freelancing, contracting and portfolio careers when they differ from the steps for entrepreneurship, but you'll find that self-employment in all its forms follows a similar structure.

3pm: Networking for Success (with Speed Networking) - We all know by now that networking is a crucial skill in essentially every career. Expanding your connections can reap huge benefits for your career and the careers of those around you. Networking is particularly important for entrepreneurs and the self-employed as your work is almost entirely self-directed, and can get isolating if you don't put in time to meet your peers.

This session will cover the basics of networking, what you can gain, and how to break into a conversation at a networking event. This session will also include time for 'Speed Networking' with one another in virtual breakout rooms.

6pm: Entrepreneur session – more details to follow!

All sessions will be interactive and are designed to provide you with practical takeaways that you can then put in to action.

By signing up to Day Two, you are signing up to all three sessions and you will be sent one link to access all sessions on Collaborate at least 24 hours before the start.  Please make sure that you have signed up with the correct email address to ensure you receive the link.

If you require any adjustments for the sessions, please let Lucy Robinson know at lucy.robinson@bbk.ac.uk
