Gender and Sexuality Studies at Birkbeck

Birkbeck has a strong tradition in innovative interdisciplinary gender and sexuality studies. Our students benefit from being part of a vibrant research environment which is home to internationally renowned scholars and a regular programme of distinguished visiting speakers from around the world.  The postgraduate degrees in Gender and Sexuality studies are linked to the Birkbeck Institute of Gender and Sexuality (BIGS), which hosts world-leading experts in the field, and organises a diverse range of events throughout the year.  BIGS sponsors a lively student-led postgraduate forum which runs reading groups, workshops and symposia, as well as the BIGS student blog.
