Research students
There are more than 150 research students in the School: 60 full-time and 90 part-time.
Many of the students are engaged in collaborative research with other public and private sector organisations.
Birkbeck provides a vibrant research environment. Some 25 research centres serve as focus for cross-discipline collaboration.
All students attend subject-specific research training courses, and also have access to the generic research skills training organised by the College Research School.
Within the School, each department’s MPhil/PhD programme director oversees the academic well-being of research students.
