This workshop is suitable for managers and other professionals who wish to develop their strategic management skills and knowledge.

Topics

  • Emphasis is placed on extending interpersonal skills, improving personal performance and developing the analytical abilities required in a senior decision-making role.
  • Participants will examine some of the fundamental concepts and tools used in the strategic management process (including BPEST; SWOT; Porter’s Value Chain, Five Forces and Generic Strategies; Ansoff’s Market Growth Strategies; the Balanced Scorecard) and their use in the generation of strategic options and strategy formulation.

Aims

  • The overall aim of the workshop is to provide clear guidelines on how to use the information generated by these tools and techniques to provide clear strategic direction for the organisation and how to build on this to plan for successful strategy implementation - a key part of the strategic management process that is often overlooked by organisations.
