How to find us

Directions to our most frequently asked for rooms:

Glaxo-Wellcome seminar room (B62/3) and Room G54 are located in the Birkbeck extension building, Malet Street, in an area with controlled access:

  • enter via the Birkbeck main entrance on Torrington Square
  • walk straight ahead to reach the main corridor, then turn right
  • at the end of this corridor is a grey door - this section can only be accessed via a valid Birkbeck ID card
  • visitors should use the telephone on the side of the door to request access. (Refer to the sheet on the door listing telelphone numbers to find out who to contact or, if you can't find the contact number for the person you're visiting, call the Research office general number, ext 6800.)
  • Glaxo-Wellcome seminar room is in the basement of the extension building (follow signs once you have access through the blue door.)
  • G54 is straight ahead and to the left, up a slope, as you come through the blue door.

Room 324 is on the third floor of the extension building - you don't need a valid Birkbeck ID card to access this area. Enter via Birkbeck main entrance on Torrington Square; walk straight ahead to the main corridor and turn right. At the end of this corridor, turn left and take the lift to the third floor. The office is open after 2.30pm Monday to Friday.

Room 606 is on the sixth floor of the main building: enter via the Birkbeck main entrance; take the main lift (on your left) or main stairs to floor 6 and follow signs to Room 606.
