Maurice Elvey: the development of a British Film Maker during World War One.

Maurice Elvey (1887-1967) was Britain's most prolific film director with a career spanning both the silent and sound periods. This project focuses on his early career in the theatre from 1906 to 1913, and his early film career between 1913 and 1919, when he developed the biographical film, most notably Nelson and The Life Story of David Lloyd George.
