Entrepreneurship in the Arts.

The notions of artists as cultural entrepreneurs are at the forefront of discourses covering labour conditions in the creative economy, skills development in the cultural industries, as well as economic and social pressures of the individual artist today.

Through empirical research, I am interested in exploring the notion of entrepreneurship through the lived experience of Cambridge Arts Network-related artists.

My research question seeks to explore how artists work and how they approach the idea of entrepreneurship, if this is relevant for their work and how this is played out in relation to current cultural policy developments. This study is explorative in nature, and aims to give a deeper insight into the lived experiences of artists.
