Adorno, Dada and the Philistine: The Immanent Negation of the Institution of Art

This thesis explores the relationship between the aesthetic theory of Theodor Adorno and the anti-art of Dada. The focus of the investigation is the figure of the philistine, understood as a product of aesthetic discourse, which also functions as the other of art.
