Precarious Utopias: Visions of Precarity in Contemporary Speculative Culture.

The past five years have witnessed a resurgence in the radical imagining of better worlds, spearheaded by resistance movements working against the rising precarity of everyday life for large sectors of the global population. This dissertation will explore the manifestations of precarity and utopia across a range of contemporary speculative work including science fiction, zines, and poetry.
