About us

The School of Arts was created as part of the restructuring of Birkbeck in 2009. We offer diverse, innovative, exciting and creative prospectus, from one-day courses to PhDs.

Student numbers

Approximately 700 undergraduate students and 460 postgraduate students currently study at the School of Arts, with more than 2,000 students taking short courses. In addition, over 200 students are undertaking research at PhD level.

Location

We are located in Gordon Square, in the famous Bloomsbury area of central London. It's a unique part of the capital, offering world-famous museums and galleries in a setting of beautiful, leafy squares.
