Isobel Elstob, Associate Research Fellow

Isobel has taught modern and contemporary art history and theory at the University of Nottingham, Birkbeck College, and the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL. She has contributed to panel discussions and given conference presentations at both national and international events and has also directed contemporary art engagement events in the UK. Isobel's research focuses on contemporary visualizations of marginalised historical narratives through cross-disciplinary applications of postmodern literary and historiographical theory. Her most recent essays appeared in the Journal of Victorian Culture and the Journal of Neo-Victorian Studies. She is currently working on her first monograph entitled Visualizing the Victorians: The Nineteenth Century in Contemporary Art.
