Susan Aldworth

Susan Aldworth is an experimental printmaker and filmmaker referencing both neuroscience and philosophy in her work exploring human identity. Born in 1955, she studied philosophy at Nottingham University and printmaking at Sir John Cass, London. Her work is in many collections including the V&A, British Museum, Hunterian Museum and Wellcome Collection. Significant recent international shows include Brains: The Mind as Matter (Wellcome Collection); Mind Maps: Stories from Psychology (Science Museum, London); Images of the Mind (Dresden and Brno); and Kyoto Hanga International, Japan. Her solo exhibition Susan Aldworth: The Portrait Anatomised was shown at the National Portrait Gallery in 2013. She is currently working on a project with York University and GSTTC investigating the narratives of sleep. She lives and works in London and is represented by GV Art, London.
