Mentoring Programme
The School of Law and the Alumni team have developed an alumni mentoring programme with the aim of providing additional support to students experiencing academic difficulties during their second year on the LLB course. These students have been identified by the School of Law as the most likely to drop out of their studies, or under perform in exams.
The mentoring programme gives students access to a more personal and individual support network. Students will get advice, guidance and encouragement from Law School graduates who have successfully completed the same course.
Mentors and students will be matched based on compatibility criteria to ensure the best working relationship. Each mentor will be required to:
- Mentor one student for a full academic year
- Meet the student for one hour twice a term (six meetings per year)
- Raise aspirations by building the student's confidence in their own abilities
For further information about the role and selection criteria please read the Role of alumni mentor
