Governors of the College

The Governing Body is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the College. It consists of 21 Governors - eleven independent Governors; two Governors representing Academic Board; two representing Academic Staff; one representing Professional Services, technical and research staff; two student Governors; one Governor elected from the Birkbeck alumni; and the Master and the Vice Master. The Governing Body meets four times a year, normally in November, February, March and July.

The Governing Body  takes all final decisions on strategic matters and issues of fundamental concern to the College and is responsible for ensuring compliance with the College’s constitutional and regulatory framework.
