Course structure
Year 1 (January start)
- Arts and Media: An Introduction (compulsory module)
- Arts and Media: Organisational Structures and Management Practices (compulsory module).
Year 2 (October start)
- Issues in Arts and Media (I): Histories and Context (compulsory module)
- two option modules from a list of pathways.
Year 3 (October start)
- Issues in Arts and Media (II): Contemporary Challenges (compulsory module)
- two option modules from a list of pathways (following on from Year 2).
Pathways include (but are not limited to): Journalism; Screenwriting; Multimedia; Cinema; Television; PR; Cultural Theory and Policy; Visual Arts; Performing Arts; Audience Engagement and Education.

Further study opportunities
Depending on the option modules you choose in Years 2 and 3, you can go on to the following programmes:
- Year 3 of our BA Arts Management or BA Media Management, which you can complete with two more years of part-time study. This is available only to graduates of this Foundation Degree.
- Year 3 of the BSc Professional Studies, which you can complete with two more years of part-time study.
There are also other BAs, MAs, postgraduate diplomas and postgraduate certificates available in arts management, film, journalism and media within the Department of Media and Cultural Studies.

Careers information
Graduates go on to careers in journalism, film and television, multimedia production and curatorial or management roles in museums and galleries, theatres, arts organisations and education.
