Human Resource Development and Consultancy (MSc) - 2013/2014 entry
-
Overview
This programme focuses on Human Resource Development (HRD) – a strategic approach to people management and organisational development, designed to enhance learning, skills, personal development and performance within the workplace.
The design of this programme recognises that the barriers that once separated specialists in training and development, career planning, organisational learning, performance management, organisational change and consultancy practice are disappearing. The programme provides an opportunity for graduates and experienced organisational development and HR practitioners to return to academic study in the form of a flexible and intensive course that can be tailored to their particular needs and interests. It is based on a belief in the central importance of self-directed learning, openness to change and collaborative working.
The programme is intellectually challenging. It integrates training, organisational development, lifelong learning principles and consultancy practice, as well as offering a systematic approach to the design, management and evaluation of programmes to improve personal effectiveness and organisational performance. It has been recognised by the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD).
