Film Music

This module looks at the music used for film from its earliest (silent) days and how the development of integral music scores has become essential to the total effect of the finished work. It examines music specially written for film, including that produced by many 'classical' composers in the twentieth century, and also considers how existing classical and popular music can be used to provide atmosphere, characterisation, and effects and support the narrative.
