Biography
My work is inter-disciplinary and brings together Occupational Psychology, HRM, and Health Psychology. My values are grounded in improving inclusivity, redressing inequalities, and addressing vulnerabilities. My main research interests are around vulnerability and ‘otherness’, in particular, the intersection of stigmatising identities and health at work. Some of my ongoing collaborations include exploring the lived experience of embodying ‘dirty’ identities in ‘tainted’ occupations with Professor Gina Grandy, gendered health and stigma with Dr. Sarah Stutterheim, discrimination and harassment with Dr. Marie Juanchich, Critical Femininities with Dr. Rhea A. Hoskin, occupational prestige with Dr. Camilla de Camargo, feminism in the global South with Dr. Alia Weston, and job crafting for meaningfulness in coaching with Dr. Qi Wei.

Research overview
I am the co-lead of the international Gender and Health at Work Specialised Network with Dr. Sarah Stutterheim where we focus on (a)gendered health lived experiences at work and gender-sensitive health HRM/organisational policies. I am on the Editorial Board at the Gender, Work and Organization journal, which is one of the leading journals focused on gender. I value connecting people in contexts that lead to collaborations that are aligned with my values. For example, in 2021, I hosted the London hub of the International Society of Critical Health Psychology (ISCHP) global conference that brought together hubs from Wellington, Santiago, Guelph, and Brisbane. In 2019, I hosted the international Inclusive Wellbeing Symposium – a knowledge exchange initiative that brought together academics and practitioners. I was also previously the head of the Wellbeing at Work research group at Kingston University (2019-2020), and I am currently a member of the Birkbeck Gender and Sexuality (BiGS) group.
I am an invited supervisor at the University of Maastricht in The Netherlands in my areas of expertise and an Advisory Board member for a National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) funded project on unprofessional behaviours in the NHS. I was previously an Academic Advisor for a non-profit healthcare provider project on neurodiversity.

In our Department’s coaching suite of programmes, I am the Programme Director of Coaching Psychology and Janet Sheath is the Programme Director of Career Coaching. My vision is to lead an inclusive Coaching Psychology programme grounded in the value of social justice as we develop in-depth theoretical understanding and evidence-based reflexive practice. I convene the Coaching Psychology Research Project module where I mentor coaches to contribute to the field of Coaching Psychology, and the Global HR and Diversity Management module on our HRM programmes. I was previously the Programme Director for the full-time MSc Occupational and Business Psychology (2016-2019) and the BA in Business Management Practice (2013-2015) at Kingston University.
I am committed to widening participation in education. For instance, I was the Outreach Lead for the Department of Management (2019-2021) at Kingston University where I contributed to enhancing access to higher education. Between 2013 and 2015, I also supported the relationship and transition between further education and higher education as College Liaison. Between 2019 and 2021, I was also a member of the Network of Equality Champions - a group of academics, professional staff, and students who championed equality and inclusion at Kingston University.
