Biography
A cultural historian of gender, race and sexualities in the eighteenth-century British world, I am currently working on Whiteness, violence and Enlightenment culture in the Warrane/Sydney colony.
With a background in gender history, I have published numerous articles and book chapters on eighteenth-century Scottish and British culture, and am the author of Gender and Enlightenment Culture in Eighteenth-Century Scotland (Edinburgh University Press, 2014).
