Research overview
I research, teach and write in the following areas: refugees, asylum and different forms of international migration on national, EU and international level; race, migration, crime and criminal justice; criminalisation of asylum seekers and undocumented migrants; border/state crimes; lived experiences of criminalisation; racist hate crimes directed against asylum seekers, irregular migrants and refugees; mental health and social care of refuge seekers; governance and accountability amongst immigration authorities and private security companies; media, crime and racism; lived experiences of detention and prisons amongst non-nationals; politics of multiculturalism, race and racism; and post-colonial criminology.
I invite PhD supervision in any of the above areas.
