Biography
Michael Garnett received his BA and MPhil in Philosophy from Cambridge University and his PhD from the University of Toronto. He then took up a College Lectureship at Wadham College, Oxford, before joining Birkbeck in 2007.

Michael is interested in a variety of issues relating to freedom and autonomy, including coercion, manipulation, indoctrination, ideology, oppression and domination, as well as the history of the idea of freedom.
