Get Ahead, Stay Ahead: Developing your concentration & focus for study
When:

Get Ahead, Stay Ahead is a series of online study and writing skills workshops running throughout September, designed to help you prepare for university before the start of the academic year.
Most students usually intend to make study sessions as productive as possible, scheduling time to study, hoping to make the most of it. You have minimised external distractions as much as possible, but somehow the internal ones get in the way of getting on with it. If this sounds like you (probably most students), come to this workshop. We will briefly discuss the psychology of distractedness. We will then explore practical strategies to build focus and concentration that you can start implementing immediately.
This online workshop will take place on Microsoft Teams
The resources and recordings will be found after the workshops on the Birkbeck Study Skills Moodle module (student login required) in the Get Ahead, Stay Ahead section.
This workshop will repeat on Tuesday 12th September at 6pm and Thursday 21st September at 1pm.
Birkbeck Study Skills also run study and writing skills workshops throughout the academic year.
