Blind in Business: Visually Prepared Workshop

Venue: Online

Blind in Business was founded in 1992 by three blind graduates. After graduating from university with good degrees they initially found it difficult to gain work, due to misconceptions and wariness from employers who were wary about visual impairments. But they  persisted, and two of them became partners in leading law firms. The third went on to do a Master of Business Administration at Cranfield, and became a successful businessman – making history as the first blind person to gain this qualification.

They launched Blind in Business to help other blind and partially sighted graduates to compete equally with sighted candidates for good jobs, by providing help, support and training, and by removing barriers to success. Since they started the business, it has grown , and now helps hundreds of people achieve their goals.

This workshop will help you build confidence in, and take ownership of, your visual impairment in the graduate recruitment process.

The interactive one hour workshop will cover:

·        Disability disclosure: Should I disclose and can it be an advantage?

·        Making the most of accessible internships and work experience.

·        Reasonable adjustments and access to work.

·        Building your network and playing the game.

·        Are employers really disability confident?

Our Speaker is Susannah for Blind in Business.
