We have three great sessions lined up, focussing on helping to support you in your career journey, build your career capital and develop your personal brand both online and offline. 

All sessions will be interactive and are designed to provide you with practical takeaways that you can then put into immediate action. We encourage you to come prepared to ask questions and share your thoughts on the topics at hand.

12 pm: 7 reasons why your startup will fail and what to do about it 

With Claud Williams, Entrepreneur and Birkbeck University Enterprise Consultant

During this session, you learn about the main reasons why businesses created in the last 20 years failed. This session will also have an interactive component where we will explore what you can do to increase your businesses chances of success.

 

3 pm: Live Entrepreneur interview and Q&A
With Alexander Mitchell, Founder of Bling Cupid

Alexander is a Birkbeck University student who has launched a brand new dating app experience called Blind Cupid. He is the previous winner of the Pioneer 1.0 award and has raised £300,000 of investment with further plans to raise more. We will hear about his highs and their lows and benefit from them sharing their lessons on their pathway to success. The session will conclude with a Q&A where you will ask whatever questions you might have.

  

6pm: Panel Discussion - What makes a successful entrepreneur 

In the final session for the first day of the Career Summer Bootcamp, we will be hosting a live panel with members from the entrepreneurial community, including investors, entrepreneurs and enterprise educators. Hear first hand from those who live and breathe entrepreneurship so that you can take your business idea to the next level.

    Claud Williams is an award-winning entrepreneur, board member, and executive coach. He is founder of the personal development tech start-up Dream Nation, which has impacted the lives of thousands of young adults across the UK. He has worked with a number of great organisations such as Google, Barclays, and Cambridge University. Claud also serves as a board member for the NHS and an ambassador for the British Dyslexia Association.
