When:
Venue: External

Book your place

We have organised a guided tour with open-air music and afternoon tea in Kensal Green Cemetery to pay tribute to Birkbeck scientist and founder George Birkbeck, and Nobel Laureates Baron Patrick Blackett (experimental physicist working on radioactivity) and Sir Derek Barton (organic chemist) who both worked at Birkbeck during their careers. In addition, we will visit the graves of computing pioneer Charles Babbage, and famed architect Isambard Kingdom Brunel in a tour of scientific resting places.

We will meet at Kensal Green cemetery entrance and start with a tour of the cemetery by an expert guide, followed by afternoon tea with musical accompaniment by the Dionysus Ensemble (who played at the closing ceremony event of our One World Festival Week in 2018 in front of a full house!)

1.30pm – 2pm: arrival, spot checking and registration

Please note: This outdoor event is COVID-19 compliant and organised on the basis of the most recent Government guidelines on the pandemic (subject to changes).
