Curating and collections management (postgraduate certificate)

  • History of Architecture (MA/Postgraduate Certificate/Postgraduate Diploma) 
    • Students will work closely with internationally recognised experts across a number of sectors. Take advantage of some of London's most historic museums, visiting speakers and screenings.
    • A rich learning environment, enabling students to enrich their education with museum and site visits, visiting lecturers and screenings.
    • Students can pursue a History of Art and Architecture course as a graduate certificate or diploma as a gateway into postgraduate study.
  • History of Art (MA/Postgraduate Certificate/Postgraduate Diploma) 
    • Gain exposure to key art historical approaches, focusing on in-depth areas and periods of particular interest to you.
    • Take advantage of researching various artworks, from buildings to installations, sculpture to digital media, paintings to photography taught through options and independent research.

  • History of Art with Curating or Collections Management (MA) 
    • Prepare yourself for a career in the museum workplace, developing a strong foundation and the working practices required to succeed.
    • Students will meet with and learn from curators, collections managers and professionals in museums and galleries across London.
    • We work with a number of institutions such as the Tate, British Museum and Whitechapel Gallery to secure supervised work placements for students.
  • History of Art with Photography (MA/Postgraduate Certificate/Postgraduate Diploma) 
    • Learn about past and current photographic practices and cultures to develop your interests.
    • Develop subject-specific and transferable research to enhance your career opportunities in the field.
    • Work with our diverse staff and study within a vibrant student body.

  • Museum Cultures (MA/Mres/Postgraduate Certificate/Postgraduate Diploma)
    • Students can take a number of custom modules in addition to completing a research project or work placement.
    • Take advantage of study trips. Former students have visited Florence, Paris, Rome and Berlin. 
    • Hone key skills which you can apply to a future career in a museum, gallery or archive.
  • Museum Cultures with Collections Management (MA)
    • Students can choose to focus on collections management. Concentrate on the issues and skills required to successfully manage collections and the working practices central to museums and galleries.
  • Museum Cultures with Curating (MA)
    • Study both subjects to uncover key issues and develop the skills needed to curate collections. You'll also learn about the different working practices of various museums and galleries.
