Module description

The course aims to provide you with practical experience of all aspects of conducting a research project within an area of contemporary psychology, including conducting a literature review, formulating a research question, designing and running a study to address that question, analysing the study’s results, assessing the relevance of study’s results in the context of the existing literature and the research question, and presenting the study in formal report.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you should be able to:

  • conduct a literature review within any area of contemporary psychology
  • develop an ethical research proposal within any area of contemporary psychology
  • plan and organise a substantive medium-term research project and
  • produce a well-reasoned written report of the research that is formatted according to standard conventions.
