Management Research Project

Overview

  • Credit value: 60 credits at Level 7

Module description

This module consists of three elements: a critical literature review, a research project and a personal learning review. Central to the module is the concept that you identify, analyse and investigate a work-based problem or issue within your own organisation, using techniques and knowledge learned from your programme of study.

The practical focus on a real business issue of importance to your organisation - for which you will need to develop suitable recommendations - will help you to demonstrate value from your course to your organisation, as well as providing an opportunity to practise and develop your own consulting skills. This may also aid you in gaining sponsorship from your organisation.

In exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the course director, you may be permitted to undertake a dissertation rather than a management research project. In a dissertation, unlike the management research project, the organisational issue studied does not have to be situated in a particular organisation.
