You will complete a supervised dissertation based on an independently chosen research topic in economics. This allows you to extend your understanding of ideas encountered in the taught courses and to develop themes for further research (potentially relevant for an MPhil/PhD).

The main topics of study are:

• Macroeconomics
• Microeconomics
• Econometrics.

By the end of this module, you will:

• have produced a supervised independent piece of research on a topic from economics or financial economics
• demonstrate your ability to analyse in depth an issue using theoretical, computational and econometric techniques, and to present your arguments coherently through a written dissertation.
