VolunteeringAny student, alumni or staff member of Birkbeck College can register for help in finding volunteer opportunities. These may be related to your course if you are studying or simply in a field that is of interest to you. Volunteering is often the only way to gain experience in the organisations or fields in which students want to work. For others, it increases your options and can provide you with improved or additional skills. In addition volunteering is an opportunity to give something back to the community and make a difference. Many organisations that provide invaluable services to the community would not be able to function without the committed work of volunteers. Please choose Opportunities, to see a range of options and charities and to see a list of the latest positions on offer. Email us on volunteering@bbk.ac.uk or phone 0207 631 6683 for assistance or if you would like to be sent updates of opportunities. Community Involvement AwardBirkbeck College has set up an Award for its students, alumni and staff engaged in the community: The Community Involvement Award. This non-accredited Award is to show recognition for the important and valuable work that many of our students take part in, throughout all aspects of community life.
