Membership information

Attention all members: we hold regular branch meetings, where you can have your say. |
If you are a member of Birkbeck staff and are currently on Grades 1-6, you should join Unison (see here if you're not sure which union is best for you). You have to actively join Unison and pay a subscription by deduction from salary or direct debit to Unison. You are not a member of Birkbeck Unison automatically merely by being employed by Birkbeck (although we do come across people under this impression).
Find out more about Unison:

By becoming a member, you have a voice
By becoming a member of a union at Birkbeck, you get a say in changes to terms and conditions, negotiations over pay, changes to policies and procedures, and other employment-related matters that affect you personally.
If you aren't a member of a union, then you will not have input into any of these matters, even though they will affect you.

Download a copy of our application form here and, once you have completed it, give it to any member of the branch committee. Find out more about applying to join Unison.
