Aims and scope

TRIGGER working paper series has as its first aim the promotion of research outputs resulting from the conduct and implementation of TRIGGER project within Birkbeck, in partner institutions and participants in TRIGGER events.

Second, because TRIGGER project is focused on gender and underrepresentation of women in academia, the working paper series is to welcome contributions that treat gender equality in both higher education and broader organisational domains.

Contributions can be both conceptual and empirical, and are expected to focus on the issues of gender representation and gender segregation in scientific disciplines and professional domains. Studies reporting on the application of gender equality measures and on their implications and effects in specific academic or organisational areas are welcomed.

Topics include:

• gender and the choice of disciplines,
• gender and life/career trajectories,
• gender and leadership,
• gender and entrepreneurship,
• gender, networking and career,
• gender and work-life balance choices.

Editorial policy

Submitted manuscripts should not have been previously published although they could be under review for external publication. In exceptional circumstances, working papers that have been later accepted for publication in journals may be withdrawn from TRIGGER website.

Each submitted paper will be read for content and structure by at least two of the editors.
