In collaboration with Birkbeck Athena SWAN Team, the TRIGGER Project is holding a Networking & Roundtable Event for the University of London established female professors in the STEMM’s field

This event is designed to enable discussion and rapport building through sharing experiences, life situation and guided roundtable discussions. Topics discussed by the participants will include career progression (aspiration & limitation), analysing gender specific limitations & solutions, growing you reputation and what does success mean to you.

Background information on TRIGGER Project:

 

The Transforming Institutions by Gendering contents and Gaining Equality in Research (TRIGGER) project at Birkbeck is part of a five-country European consortium championing the role of female academics in scientific subjects (2014-2017) (http://www.bbk.ac.uk/trigger/). The project aims to understand the underrepresentation of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Medicine (STEMM) subjects and to provide recommendations for fostering organisational change. The TRIGGER team is involved in the Athena SWAN committee and in the College’s Strategic Equality Review.

Background information on the University of London Established STEMM Professors Network (EPN)

Purpose:

The network purpose will be to help female STEMM related field professors grow within their career and create impactful inter-establishment rapport within the University of London.

Objectives

-          To encourage cross university links and networking within the STEMM female professors

-          To enable participants to widen their professor’s networks to enhance publication and dissemination opportunities as well as grow their reputations

-          Share common problems and find potential solutions
