What can go into the Blue Bins?
Thanks to assistance from Camden Council and the Institute of Education we are able to send all paper and paper based products for recycling - including small amounts of flat packed cardboard.
Please use your 'BLUE' bin for:
- White copy and printer paper. Don't worry about staples or paperclips still being attached.
- All types of coloured paper
- Envelopes including windowed ones
- Newspapers & Magazines
- Paper sandwich wrappers
- Paper plates - without the food waste
- Paper cups - not the plastic lids though
- Sticky labels and their sheets
- A4 folders
- Small amounts of flat packed cardboard
- Small amounts of books
Please remember NOT to put anything other than paper and paper products in the blue bins as this causes cross contamination of the contents resulting in the College being charged considerably for sorting costs. Put the following in your normal waste bin:
- Plastic/glass bottles
- Food waste
- Jiffy bags and/or padded envelopes
- Laminated sheets of paper
- Crisp packets and confectionary wrappers
- Plastic or Polystyrene cups and food containers
- Paper clips
- Flowers
- Plastic sandwich wrappers, tin foil and cling film
- Plastic or wooden cutlery
If in doubt - leave it out!
If you find that the amount or size of blue bin you have been issued with becomes insufficient, please contact Anne McKeown in the Estates and Facilities Department and arrange for your provision to be increased.
The blue bins will be emptied on a daily basis by the Ocean cleaners, whilst all other waste bins will be emptied as and when
