Cycling

Birkbeck encourages cycling through provision of cycle racks, bike storage bins, cycle loan scheme for staff and it also has showers that cyclists can use.Look down the headings to the left and you will find good advice on bicycle security. Here are two more good links on cycling in London: The London Cycling Campaign and Transport for London's Cycling.

Walking

If you want to walk to and from the College (or anywhere else for that matter) and you are not sure of the route, use the urban walking route planner at walkit.com. It will not only plan the route but will tell you how many steps it takes, and how much carbon dioxide you have saved had you used a car/bus/tube.

The College van

Birkbeck's one and only vehicle is a small van which is fully powered by electricity. See the College's Green Transport Plan for more information on our transport ethos.
