  • Assessment
    • Most modules are assessed by an unseen formal examination and coursework at the end of each term.
  • Attendance
      • Two–three evenings a week (part-time).
      • One–two evenings per week (decelerated).
      • October–June.
  • Duration
      • Four years part-time.
      • Six years decelerated part-time.
  • Entry requirements
      • Applicants under 21 require a minimum of three A-levels BCC or equivalent to 260 tariff points. International Baccalaureate 26.
      • All other students may be admitted as mature students based on their qualifications, skills, or relevant experience which may include: any Level 3 qualification (such as A-level or Access to HE Diploma, NVQ Level 3 etc); relevant work experience
      • Applicants will normally be expected to have grade C GSCE-level English and maths. Applicants who do not hold this level of qualification may be required to carry out a skills audit at a selection evening, which comprises maths and English. This audit assesses an applicants potential to cope with and benefit from a particular programme of study.
      • Some applicants may be advised to take the Certificate of Higher Education in Management or Certificate of Higher Education in Higher Education Introductory Studies (Business Pathway) or any Access to HE course or equivalent at a further education college before reapplying.
      • English language requirements for non-native speakers should be equivalent to IELTS 6.5.

Accounting and Management with Finance (BSc) - 2013/2014 entry

This joint degree provides you with high-level training and knowledge in accounting and finance, and explains their role in management in both the public and private sectors. You will develop a broad understanding of accounting, finance and management, with detailed knowledge of accounting practices, finance, strategic management, computing, marketing, managerial economics and quantitative techniques. It would be useful if you are looking to get into a career in accounting and finance, or are already working closely with the accounting and finance profession. Exemptions from accountancy bodies’ professional examinations are possible.
